Michael Owen makes Jordan Pickford admission at Everton

Michael Owen has chosen Jordan Pickford as the best goalkeeper in the Premier League so far this season after his performances for Everton.

It has been another frustrating season for the Blues who currently sit just two points above the relegation zone, having been guilty of failing to convert draws into wins.

However, Pickford has kept seven clean sheets from 18 Premier League appearances this term showing the solidity at the back for a team struggling in the table.

For Owen, the goalkeeper’s performances have put him above anyone else as he picked him in his Premier League team of the season so far reasoning: “It is Jordan Pickford over David Raya for me. He’s had a great season. I had to go for the Everton man.”

Jordan Pickford a shining light for Everton

Despite a tough number of years for the Toffees, they have always been able to rely on Pickford both on and off the pitch which has made him a firm favourite at Goodison Park.

The Blues are disappointingly low in the table this term but when you look at their record they have three wins, eight draws and seven losses in the Premier League.

While their losses are of course an issue, there is a staggering number of draws they have produced over the campaign so far which Sean Dyche’s side needs to fix in the second half of the season.

That being said, Pickford’s reliability at the back of the pitch has certainly been the difference between drawing and dropping points for the Toffees showing his importance in the side.

The 30-year-old continues to keep his standards high at Goodison and supporters will be hoping that he can continue doing the same as a Premier League goalkeeper with the Blues next season.
