Bournemouth v Everton: Clinton Morrison stunned by one moment – ‘Oh my word’
Clinton Morrison could not believe it as Bournemouth wasted an attack in their close 1-0 win over Everton on Saturday afternoon.
With the contest ebbing towards the break at the Vitality Stadium on 4 January, Ryan Christie elected to try and find striker Evanilson for the Cherries when the chance presented itself to score.
Jordan Pickford claimed the ball to extinguish the danger for the Toffees, as Morrison was left baffled live on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday (4 January, 15:47).
“Can he pick the right pass? Kluivert to Christie… oh my word,” he moaned.
“He tried to pick out Evanilson instead of going for goal, comfortable for Pickford.”
Everton have had Jordan Pickford to thank
As sturdy as Everton’s defence has become in the mini-resurgence under Sean Dyche, Pickford barking out the orders behind the backline will always instil some confidence.
At some stage in every Toffees encounter, England’s number one has pulled off at least one tremendous save which has saved the bacon of Dyche’s men.
Despite the occasional defeat still sprinkled into the recent improved run, Everton have certainly raised their standard from the catastrophe of the early stages of the campaign.

It is similar to how the Toffees managed to raise their game in the final third of last term, eventually moving well clear of any relegation threat despite eight points’ worth of deductions.
After returning home from Bournemouth, Dyche’s side avert their gaze to the FA Cup against Peterborough United, followed by the hosting of Aston Villa on 15 January.
Despite the defeat, Dyche will have some defensive confidence again but he needs to find some answers moving into the final third and quick.
