Friedkin stance on Everton transfers revealed as signing confirmed at Goodison Park

Everton Women’s signing of Martina Fernandez is a sign of The Friedkin Group’s desire to strengthen Brian Sorensen’s side, according to Joe Thomas.

The Liverpool Echo journalist reported via his personal X account on 4 January that the new owners are “keen to improve” the Women’s team.

He added that work is already underway, with Sorensen’s side following up the signing of Kelly Gago with Fernandez’s arrival in the January transfer window.

The Merseyside-based club have roped the 20-year-old in on loan until the end of the season from Barcelona.

They have also taken custody of the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium as the switch from Goodison to the new home edges closer.

However, their influence does not stop there as they have already shown that they are keen to bolster the Women’s team ranks.

There is no doubt that fans want to see Everton progress on all fronts and it is encouraging to see the new owners invest in the ladies’ squad right away.

Sorensen’s side are currently placed ninth in the FA Women’s Super League after five games and will be hopeful that Gago and Fernandez can help them push further up the table.
