Graham Potter appointment: Everton complicate talks after new twist
Everton are complicating West Ham talks to possibly appoint Graham Potter, according to the Mirror.
The news outlet reports (7 January) that the Toffees are interested in Potter, but the Hammers look set to appoint him should they sack Julen Lopetegui, as expected.
The Blues would be keen on potentially appointing the former Brighton boss, with Sean Dyche’s future under scrutiny [Sky Sports, 6 January].
Everton need to fight for Graham Potter with West Ham
Considering what has happened this season, the Toffees should be fighting West Ham for Potter.
The Blues are currently just one point above the relegation zone, and a drop to the Championship seems a real possibility.
While Dyche did well to get points off of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City, the pressure is back on him after the losses to Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth.
Everton haven’t made any progress under the former Burnley head coach, and The Friedkin Group (TFG) need to expedite the English manager’s firing.

Dyche’s defensive style of play has also been a point of contention for the Goodison faithful, who see his sacking as inevitable.
If the Merseyside outfit are eventually going to relieve the 53-year-old of his duties, they may as well do it sooner rather than later.
Potter might not have had the best of times at Chelsea, but his work at Brighton should give the Friedkins a clue of what they could be getting.
Dan Friedkin will evidently not want his new club playing in the second decision at the start of next season and will unlikely stick with Dyche if things get worse.
