Friedkins make first mistake at Everton amid developments elsewhere

The Friedkin Group appear to have made their first mistake as Everton owners with Graham Potter reportedly set to take over at West Ham.

Everton are enduring a horrid season and much of that is down to the doing of Sean Dyche who has caused a serious regression at Goodison Park.

It’s quite remarkable that Dyche has lasted this long in the job given the performances and results but any sack decision looks some time away yet and it’s the first mistake made by TFG.

Potter looks set to take over at West Ham [Jacob Steinberg] and it’s a massive missed opportunity for the Toffees after it was claimed Everton appeared an “attractive prospect” to the ex-Chelsea boss [Daily Mail].

The unwillingness to make an immediate change looks costly with the developments at West Ham.

Graham Potter is a missed opportunity for Everton

Everton need a change, there’s no doubting that and there will be very few people capable of making a case against those claims.

However, the Toffees have missed the opportunity to make the perfect change which Potter would certainly have been.

The job he did at Brighton was exemplary and it’s a very similar task to the one at hand on Merseyside with the potential of Everton even bigger than that of the Seagulls.

That ship has now sailed it seems, and if the Toffees are to make a change, they will have to look elsewhere with David Moyes tipped for a return to the club.

Everton have a genuine chance of facing relegation and if decisions arent made at the right time, those chances will only be amplified.
