Sean Dyche sack: Expert shares when he expects Everton manager to go
Everton could still wait until the end of the season before dispensing with Sean Dyche as manager, according to Ian Darke.
The TV commentator, speaking exclusively to Goodison News, is unconvinced any reports of an exit can be definite unless direct from the source, namely The Friedkin Group themselves.
It has been widely suggested the Toffees could sack Dyche this week with a potential move for Graham Potter on the cards as a successor, though the ex-Chelsea boss now looks destined to replace Julen Lopetegui at West Ham United.
“It’s hard to know what the board are really thinking without hearing it directly from the Friedkins’ side of the business,” Darke outlined.
“I wouldn’t be too surprised if they might want to become more like a Brighton, a Bournemouth, a Fulham, rather than a team scrambling around for the points to stay up every year.
“There might be a new mentality brewing in the summer, but we heard the ownership wanted stability – so I don’t believe things are entirely decided. I’d still lean towards them making a change at the end of the season.”
Sean Dyche future completely uncertain at Everton
Everton fans are largely in support of replacing Dyche if social media is to be believed; the experienced manager may have shored up the defence and steered the club away from relegation in the past two seasons, but the Toffees faithful are now more ambitious.
The Friedkins (TFG) have spoken out on Tuesday night, though this had little to do with on-pitch matters and more a show of excitement towards completion of the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium development (TFG on X, 7 January).

Dyche is tasked with advancing to the fourth round of the FA Cup by overcoming Peterborough United of League One on Thursday night (9 January), but it remains unclear how long he has left at the helm on Merseyside.
In other Everton news, Kevin Thelwell is “massively keen” on finalising a deal for a Premier League forward this month.
