David Moyes hire: Everton told to land new manager amid Dyche sack talk
Everton have to turn to David Moyes rather than Jose Mourinho if they decide to part ways with Sean Dyche, Alan Brazil has said.
Speaking on talkSPORT (9 January, 8:57am), Brazil admitted that while he’s a fan of the job Dyche has done on Merseyside, sacking him to hire Moyes would be a safe bet to keep them in the Premier League.
With the Toffees’ top priority this season being to stay up and pave the way for their stadium move to Bramley-Moore Dock this summer, Brazil argued Moyes would be a much better fit than Mourinho.
He said: “I think Everton just have to stay up don’t they, this year – if they can have a cup run, fine – but they’ve got to stay up with the move [to] the new stadium.
“For me, David Moyes, has got to be it. I like Sean, but if they’re going to make a change. Jose is a clever man don’t worry about that, but David knows the club inside out – he will keep them up.”
Sean Dyche sack decision looms at Everton
Having finally completed their long-awaited takeover at Goodison Park last month, The Friedkin Group will know better than most that the Blues remaining a Premier League club is absolutely paramount.
Inheriting the dire financial situation created by Farhad Moshiri‘s ownership, TFG officials will be fearing the worst if the Toffees fall into the Championship – something they’re currently at serious risk of.

Just one win in their last 11 league games and one goal scored in the last five leaves Dyche’s side just a point and two places above the drop zone, making it no surprise that the 53-year-old is under pressure.
Few Evertonians would be displeased if Dyche was shown the door, having seen a team build on solidity at the back be on the end of several heavy defeats already this season and making their feelings known.
Moyes, out of work since leaving West Ham last summer, wouldn’t be a huge change from Dyche style-wise, but with relegation on the cards, it’s time for the Friedkin to decide if they’re sticking or twisting.
In other Everton news, Dyche could ring the changes as his Toffees side host Peterborough United in the FA Cup on Thursday.
