Everton new manager: Alan Myers issues huge Jose Mourinho update

Alan Myers appears to be laughing off claims of Jose Mourinho becoming the next Everton manager.

The Sky Sports news editor joked that he has a better chance of becoming the successor to Sean Dyche than the former Chelsea boss.

Sean Dyche is no longer at the club and the club appear to have paid a multi-million fee to part ways with him.

Myers wrote on X: “I think there’s more chance of me being manager.”

Everton do not need Jose Mourinho to become the next manager

That should seal all claims that Mourinho will potentially take over at Goodison Park this season.

While it would be a big-name hire and certainly get everyone talking, but he’s not the long-term appointment the club need.

His style of football will also put off fans, much like Dyche’s and he’s got a history of falling out with the ownership at a number of clubs.

While things are expected to be better at Everton post The Friedkin Group’s takeover, money is still not going to be in abundance at the club.

This could see Mourinho throw the owners under the bus after a few bad results and nobody will want that at the club.

Owning Roma, the Americans have already worked with Mourinho and will be aware of what a disruptive force he can be.

In other Everton news, an update has emerged on who will be the next CEO with The Friedkin Group making moves.
