David Moyes first Everton training claim made by Alan Myers

Alan Myers expects David Moyes to take Everton training on Saturday as he appears set to replace Sean Dyche.

The Sky Sports news editor claimed on 10 January that Moyes has reached an agreement to return to the club as the manager.

With the Aston Villa game on 15 January expected to be his first game in charge, the Scotsman may have his first session with his new players on the 11th.

Myers wrote on X: “I expect David Moyes to take training tomorrow, after agreeing to return to the club as manager.”

David Moyes has to get a quick tune out of these Everton players

The Scotsman appears to be wasting no time and the day the confirmation is expected to arrive is when he’s expected to begin work.

It’ll be important for him to first address the mood in the camp and galvanise the spirits of the players.

There will be a few heads that will have dropped after how badly this season has gone and it’s on Moyes to get a tune out of the players.

Given his past success at Goodison Park, this is a move that the fans will be on board with and he will be given the time.

Even with Dyche, things did not really get toxic but there was always the understanding that his time is up at the club.

It remains to be seen if Moyes has what it takes to make some ruthless selections with the first team.
