‘Everton have significant issue’ as David Moyes appointed
Shamoon Hafez believes a “significant issue” that Everton have had over the last few seasons is the lack of “stability” they’ve had.
Although Sean Dyche was in charge for a decent amount of time, with Farhad Moshiri looking to sell the Toffees for most of the time the 53-year-old was in charge, there were never any guarantees.
Now that The Friedkin Group have taken over and replaced the former Burnley boss with 61-year-old Moyes, fans are likely hoping for him to be a safe pair of hands to guide them through the next couple of years.
Writing for the BBC Sport website (11 January, 12:02), Hafez shared his thoughts on what the Scotsman’s appointment at Everton could mean to fans.
“Supporters had grown tired of watching the team and, despite a general consensus that dismissing Dyche was the correct decision, there was a subdued atmosphere in the FA Cup third-round tie against Peterborough on Thursday,” he wrote.
“The Blues faithful have been starved of success, but a significant issue at the club in recent years has been a lack of stability.
“The Toffees have had to install yet another man in the dugout, and caretaker boss Leighton Baines said there has to be ‘hope and optimism’ amid the managerial change.
“Moyes is a safe pair of hands as he returns to familiar surroundings, with the hierarchy bringing back someone who many fans wanted. Their job now is to stand by the new manager.”
David Moyes could be the saviour Everton have been looking for
At the moment, it’s still early days at Everton for Moyes and fans are rightfully excited to have a new manager at the helm.
While no moves have yet been made in the transfer market, the fact that Jaden Philogene was explored as an option once again shows that the Toffees have some sort of money that they can play with in order to bolster their ranks.
Now that Moyes is officially in the role, however, it’s likely that he’ll also bring some names to the table with Ernest Nuamah’s name already being ruled out for a Goodison Park switch despite recent reports that have surfaced.

It was clear that Dyche’s days with the Merseyside outfit were numbered but nobody expected the announcement of his sacking to come as imminently as it did.
While Moyes might not be the most exciting name that could have taken over, it feels like he’s a safe pair of hands that will no doubt do the job well and finally create some stability among thier ranks.
