Richard Keys expects Everton to benefit from strange development

Richard Keys believes Everton will benefit from the managerial decision made at West Ham United following the appointment of David Moyes at Goodison Park.

Graham Potter was believed to have been on the radar of Everton after they sacked Sean Dyche [Alan Nixon], but the Toffees opted to re-appoint Moyes while the former made the move to West Ham.

The Scotsman’s return to the Toffees has led Keys to claim that Everton will benefit from the decisions made at West Ham, while hitting back at a claim made by Irons chief Karen Brady.

Via a post on his X account [12 January], beIN SPORTS presenter Keys said: “Karen Brady believes Graham Potter will take trophies to West Ham. I don’t.

“Strange – because they had a coach that did & they forced him out. Everton will benefit & it’s great to have a Scot working in the PL again. Welcome back, David.”

TFG must deliver to ensure David Moyes success at Everton

While a managerial change is certainly a step in the right direction to right the wrongs of the past few seasons, it simply won’t be enough to guarantee success.

To achieve that, The Friedkin Group must deliver on their promises and the indications are there that they will do just that, with it reported that Moyes will be allowed to bring in backroom staff members that he has previously worked with [Alan Nixon].

Everton are in need of somewhat of a rebuild and with Moyes at the helm, they have the recipe to achieve that but there will be so many other factors and hurdles along the way that need to be overcome.

That comes in the form of off-field decisions, such as recruitment, as well as what goes on on the pitch, and it must be a collective team effort to see success and perhaps most importantly, progression.

For far too long now, the Toffees have been on a downward trajectory and failure to make the right decisions will only continue that trend.
