TFG torn to shreds over ‘astonishing’ Everton official statement

The Friedkin Group have been slammed for the Everton club statement after Sean Dyche was sacked.

The Toffees revealed that the 53-year-old had departed Goodison Park but failed to thank the head coach for his efforts during his two-year spell on Merseyside.

It is safe to say that this hasn’t gone down well with Mail on Sunday journalist Riath Al-Samarrai (12 January, page 95) who has been let down by the new Toffees owner’s “bluntness”.

He said: “Where would Everton be without Dyche? How many other managers would have kept those players up in those two seasons with those circumstances and sanctions?

“Let’s talk about class and what seems to have carried over from the Moshiri regime to the Freidkin Group.

“The bluntness of Everton’s statement on Thursday was astonishing in its lack of gratitude. We can comfortably reduce that to an observation about thin niceties.”

There is plenty of positivity surrounding the new owners in L4 after they finally confirmed their takeover from Moshiri.

With that being said, the Americans aren’t messing around at Goodison after they made the bold decision to sack Dyche in a shock announcement before the cup clash against Peterborough United.

David Moyes has come in, in a move which has been well received by supporters but questions do still have to be asked of the hierarchy in Merseyside.

The statement released by the Toffees about the ex-Burnley boss was disrespectful to someone who had put in plenty of work across his two years in charge.

The Englishman kept his side in the Premier League, with two points deductions, against all the odds.

Although his style of football got frustrating towards the end of his reign, he still deserved a thank you from the Merseyside club and some well wishes for his future.

The cutthroat nature of the Friedkin’s has gone down well at Goodison but the lack of respect may begin to grate on fans if it continues.
