David Moyes to axe Beto in six changes – Everton predicted XI v Aston Villa
David Moyes could axe Beto from his first Everton starting line-up against Aston Villa on Wednesday, despite his goal in the FA Cup.
Moyes will be looking to get off to a strong start to life as Everton boss again which could see him turn to the more experienced Dominic Calvert-Lewin as his number nine.
After the 2-0 FA Cup win against Peterborough, there will no doubt be several changes with Joao Virginia, Nathan Patterson, Jake O’Brien, Michael Keane and Harrison Armstrong all potentially dropping to the bench.
This would mean the return of Jordan Pickford, Ashley Young, James Tarkowski, Jesper Lindstrom and Abdoulaye Doucoure alongside Calvert-Lewin.
David Moyes to strengthen Everton side
Pickford is likely to come back into the side as one of the few players in Blue that has done enough this term and he will be looking to pick up his eighth clean sheet of the season.
Although the Toffees have not been up to scratch this term, one area where they have delivered is defensively and therefore a strong back four of Young, Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitalii Mykolenko could be expected.

Lindstrom and Doucoure could be brought back into the side to join Mangala, Ndiaye and Gueye who all played against Peterborough. Moyes will be hoping he can raise the standards at Goodison and unleash the full quality these players have shown us part of this term.
Ndiaye has shown his quality throughout the season and did score the second goal in the FA Cup win but his new manager will be looking for him to build upon that.
Meanwhile, the 61-year-old could opt to bring Calvert-Lewin back into the side for Beto. This will no doubt be a tough decision for the new boss with the Toffees’ attacking efforts lacking throughout the campaign so far.
Between the pair of them, they have just three Premier League goals for the season. It was the 26-year-old who scored the first goal against Peterborough but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Moyes opt for the English striker who has previously proven his ability to score goals.
However, it will be up to Motes to unleash the quality we know is inside the 27-year-old on the pitch while his teammate remains linked to a move away in the January transfer window.
