Everton delight as The Esk reacts to Premier League PSR update

The Esk has expressed his delight at Everton avoiding Profit and Sustainability Charges from the Premier League.

It emerged on Tuesday (14 January) that all clubs previously charged for PSR breaches have avoided such sanctions this time around, leaving the Toffees relieved.

Paul Quinn, who goes by The Esk, is hopeful that The Friedkin Group can now put those concerns behind them and start afresh but demanded clarification from the Premier League regarding interest charges.

“Delighted that we are not subject to fresh PSR charges”, The Esk wrote on X (14 January).

“We have to hope the change of ownership will now draw a line under previous issues including the treatment of interest charges. Ball in the Premier League court to clarify.”

The Friedkin Group breathe sigh of relief after Everton PSR update

Everton were not under the threat of facing PSR sanctions this time around after The Friedkin Group bought them from Farhad Moshiri.

The £451million owed to Moshiri in shareholder loans was notably converted into shares recently, thus steering the Merseyside-based club away from any punishment.

As The Esk said, this should be a major boost to the Friedkins, who are hopeful of turning things around at Goodison Park.

It has been exactly a month since the new owners came into power and they have already brought financial stability to the club.

Therefore, there is a sense of positivity around Goodison Park at the minute, although they are still embroiled in a relegation battle in the Premier League.
