Everton PSR: Mystery emerges ahead of Premier League verdict

Kieran Maguire admits that another possible PSR punishment for Everton is currently a mystery.

With issues surrounding the stadium interest calculation, a third punishment is on the cards for the Toffees, who could find out from the Premier League on 14 January.

Everton argue that £6.6million in interest payments for Bramley Moore Dock can be taken off their PSR calculation, and a points deduction could follow if they lose that dispute (The Times).

Responding to a fan on X about when the matter will be dealt with, Maguire said: “Fair point, Sam.

“It’s all a bit mysterious.”

Premier League to punish Everton?

After two separate points deductions, you would have thought that the Premier League had done their damage, but more could be coming.

It would be a joke to see the club made an example of again, when all they are trying to do is move into a better home and improve the footballing standard of the country again.

All this over £6.6million is a farce, especially after what other clubs have done and spent.

If they were found guilty, it is said that it would amount to a one-point deduction (Martin Samuel), the current gap between Everton and Ipswich, who are 18th.

With David Moyes and The Friedkin Group now in charge, things are looking up, but hopefully they can escape any punishment off the pitch and return to the good times on it.

Starting against Aston Villa at Goodison Park on 15 January with this threat lingering, it is important to start picking up as many points as possible.

They just don’t know when they’ll need them.
