Tim Cahill sends David Moyes message at Everton today

Tim Cahill has sent a message to David Moyes on Tuesday after the Scot’s return as Everton manager was confirmed.

Moyes has returned to Goodison Park after almost 12 years, replacing Sean Dyche as their manager on Saturday, 11 January.

Cahill, who played more games under the veteran tactician than any other manager during his playing career, is among those glad to see him back on Merseyside and took to social media to express his delight.

“Welcome home boss”, Cahill wrote on Instagram (14 January).

David Moyes to lead Everton v Aston Villa

Everton will host Aston Villa at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Wednesday (15 January) in Moyes’ first game back with them.

With the Toffees sitting 16th in the table after 19 games, the former Manchester United manager has his work cut out for him.

He will be hopeful of making an instant impact at the Merseyside-based club and causing an upset over Unai Emery’s side, who are placed eighth in the Premier League.

There is no denying that Everton are in a precarious situation as they sit just a point above the relegation, albeit with a game in hand.

Therefore, it is imperative that The Friedkin Group back Moyes during the ongoing transfer window to avoid relegation and ensure the Toffees move into the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium as a Premier League club.
