Everton fans blasted on Sky Sports News after what they did v Aston Villa
Clinton Morrison has blasted Everton fans for being quiet during their 1-0 loss against Aston Villa at Goodison Park.
The Toffees welcomed David Moyes back to L4 on Wednesday (15 January) but were unable to take advantage of the new manager bounce in the early stages against the Villans.
This saw the pre-match atmosphere at Goodison slowly ebb away after kick-off which certainly surprised Morrison live on Sky Sports News (7:39pm).
He said: “The block from Tarkowski was first-class because he was going to put it in the bottom corner but this place is like a library.
“Goodison, it is so quiet. I can hear everything from the fans. I thought it would be a better atmosphere for Moyes’ first game. The players have to give the fans something to cheer about.”
Everton fans slammed by Clinton Morrison v Aston Villa
There was plenty of excitement surrounding the clash against Unai Emery’s side, marking the return of Moyes after 12 years away.
This was certainly shown by the pre-match atmosphere in the blue side of Merseyside with the sirens being met by loud roars as both sides walked out.
Given the quality that the Villans possess, they were able to quiet the home faithful down quite quickly with multiple early opportunities.
The Toffees arguably should have been 1-0 down after Ashley Young gifted Ollie Watkins a clear-cut chance which he bent around the post.

After this, it is fair to say that Moyes’ men had the better of the chances as the half went on which saw the atmosphere improve.
Despite Morrison’s negative comments, it is fair to say that the atmosphere will improve when there is something to cheer for and that was shown as the half went on at Goodison.
