Everton fans ‘must be underwhelmed’ by Moyes after what happened v Aston Villa
It was a long and boring Wednesday night for the Everton faithful against Aston Villa.
The Villans rocked up at Goodison Park and came away with all three points thanks to a solitary Ollie Watkins strike in the second half.
This was the only true moment of quality in the game, a clash which also featured a howling miss from Dominic Calvert-Lewin late on.
It was far from the dream start for David Moyes on his return to Merseyside in a performance which wasn’t any different to what was seen under Sean Dyche.

The former Burnley boss came under pressure at Goodison as his style of play was far from easy on the eye.
The results in recent weeks weren’t necessarily good enough but it is fair to say that supporters had grew impatient with his tactical approach.
As a result, the shock of his sacking was followed by excitement for the future which didn’t fade when Moyes was confirmed to be returning.
His stint at West Ham saw positive football mixed with effectiveness which resulted in a European trophy at the London Stadium.

After his first game in charge of his second stint, it looks as if the style of football in L4 isn’t likely to change any time soon.
Against Villa, the former Manchester United boss’ side were slow and created very limited chances which made it easy for the away side to keep a clean sheet in the end.
If this performance and result is a sign of things to come under Moyes, fans may be wondering why the Friedkins bothered sacking Dyche in the first place.
