Everton transfers: Alan Myers shares huge Tom Cannon update

Everton are not interested in re-sign Tom Cannon who’s currently at Leicester City, according to Alan Myers.

It was reported by The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel on 15 January that the Toffees were interested in the 22-year-old attacker.

However, as things turn out, that is not understood to be the case so a January reunion is not on the cards.

Myers wrote on X: “Everton are not trying to re-sign Tom Cannon.”

Everton can look at other alternatives in the January transfer window

The Toffees do need an attacker in the January transfer window but it’s not going to be Cannon returning to the club.

It was understood that David Moyes also may have to intervene as the Leicester attacker’s agent is Kenny Moyes – his brother.

However, that no longer seems to be needed and hopefully, Moyes and Kevin Thelwell have alternative targets in mind.

With Beto’s future uncertain and Dominic Calvert-Lewin far from reliable in front of goal, it makes a world of sense to sign a striker in his prime.

The new owners will want to avoid relegation and they know that with two game changers at the back in Jordan Pickford and Jarrad Branthwaite, someone to bail them out in attack is a proven goal scorer.

What Moyes’ stance on his preferred striker is, is still unknown, but he surely will be calling for reinforcements.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have expressed significant interest to sign an international star this month.
