Goldstein drops ‘best’ in Premier League claim about Moyes at Everton
Everton re-hiring David Moyes is one of the “best” managerial appointments in the Premier League in recent times, according to Andy Goldstein.
The Scot was confirmed as the Toffees’ new manager on Saturday (11 January) and the radio broadcaster already thinks it is a “brilliant appointment”.
Goldstein reckons it will be “perfect” to see Moyes lead the Merseyside-based club out when they move to their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium next season.
“David Moyes’ appointment at Everton is one of the best appointments as a club in the Premier League for a long, long time”, Goldstein said on talkSPORT (15 January, 5:37 pm).
“I’ll let you why because it’s David Moyes, so he’s absolutely adored, he’s coming fresh off the back of winning a European competition at West Ham and next season Everton are in a new stadium, and David Moyes leading them out, I think, is perfect. I think it’s just brilliant.”

With the move to the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium planned for next season, it is imperative that Everton avoid relegation this term.
That is why new owners The Friedkin Group decided to sack Sean Dyche and bring the veteran tactician in at this point in the season.
It now remains to be seen if Moyes can turn things around for the Toffees at Goodison Park between now and the end of the season.
He competed in Europe in his last two seasons at West Ham before leaving last summer, but has an entirely different task at Goodison Park this time around.
Dan Friedkin and Co will hope that Moyes’ connection with the Merseyside-based club will get the best out of the team as they look to stay in the Premier League.
Goldstein’s claim on talkSPORT about Moyes being one of the best appointments in the Premier League recently is still lofty, however.
