Troy Deeney predicts ‘minging’ Everton v Tottenham clash, winner ‘uncomfortable’

Troy Deeney has predicted an “uncomfortable” 2-0 win for Tottenham against Everton while labelling it as a “minging” encounter.

David Moyes will be looking to get his first league win since returning to Everton when they play host to Tottenham on Sunday.

A 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa marked his Premier League return with a stain and when making a prediction for the clash, Deeney hasn’t forecasted that to change with it labelled as a “minging” encounter when looking ahead to the game via his TikTok.

“Ew, Everton versus Spurs is minging because you’d expect Everton to be better than they have been,” explained Deeney.

“They still need goals and Spurs are… You don’t really know which Spurs are going to turn up” with the ex-Premier League striker predicting an “uncomfortable” 2-0 win for Tottenham.

Everton can inflict damage on Tottenham

While the Toffees have endured a wretched season of their own, the same can certainly be said for Tottenham who have even lightly been tipped to be in the relegation fight.

If there’s a good time to face Spurs, it’s now and Moyes and his Everton side will be fully aware of that but with the home advantage of playing at Goodison Park, things could sway in the favour of the Toffees.

There will certainly be more pressure on Tottenham to win the game than there will be on Everton, with Ange Postecoglou under increasing pressure to keep his job.

Of course, Everton will still need to be at their best to be able to achieve a result and Spurs still have the players capable of hurting you.

Players like Iliman Ndiaye will have to step up to the plate and take the game by the scruff of its neck which he has showcased an ability to do throughout the season.
