Carragher ‘looks incredibly silly’ after what he said before Everton v Tottenham
Everton supporters have had the last laugh after Jamie Carragher’s comments about David Moyes’ side facing Tottenham on Sunday.
The Goodison Park faithful have an entertaining back-and-forth with the former Premier League defender due to his links with Liverpool, and his switch from the Blues at an early age.
That is exactly why fans take his comments with a pinch of salt, especially whenever he’s talking about the Toffees, and those same people will feel that has now been rectified following the 3-2 win over Spurs on 19 January.
Speaking on The Overlap before the clash at Goodison Park, Jill Scott suggested a 3-2 win for Moyes, returning to Merseyside with a bang, a prediction which was not greeted well.
In response, Carragher said: “Everton can’t be involved in a 3-2, no,” before he and Gary Neville locked in a 1-1 draw prediction in The Overlap studios.

Some fans might not even realise that Ange Postecoglou’s side are now just four points ahead of the Toffees in the Premier League table, a club who are currently in a relegation battle.
Carragher looks incredibly silly, some might say foolish, for ruling the Blues out of a surprise victory completely before a ball had even been kicked at Goodison Park.
Goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Iliman Ndiaye and an Archie Gray own goal, all in the first half, meant second-half strikes from Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison were not enough to claw back any dignity.
Goodison Park has been a cauldron for the fans over the years, allowing for anything to happen on a matchday, and that same thing seems to have happened against Spurs.

While one era begins on Merseyside, with Moyes and The Friedkin Group partnering up, another could be ending at Hotspur Way as pressure builds on Daniel Levy to sack Postecoglou.
Given that the Toffees were not given any chance to claim all three points, it’s interesting to see how events have unfolded since Carragher’s unwise prediction.
