Everton make new approach to seal Weah transfer at Goodison Park

Everton have made an approach to sign Juventus winger Timothy Weah in the winter transfer window, according to Calciomercato.it.

The news outlet reports (20 January) that the Toffees are among several European teams interested in the American forward.

The Blues, along with RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt, have made a move to sign the 24-year-old before the 3 February deadline.

Who is Everton target Timothy Weah?

Timothy is the son of George Weah, who played for AC Milan during his hay days.

The forward progressed through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and played for Celtic and LOSC Lille before moving to Juventus in 2023.

In the current campaign, the USA international has thrived under Thiago Motta, scoring five goals and providing four assists in 21 appearances in all competitions.

Moyes evidently needs more attacking options at the Merseyside outfit despite scoring three goals against Tottenham on Sunday (19 January).

The Scottish manager has several dilemmas up front, with the Blues needing reinforcements in the number nine and right-wing positions.

Weah could be the perfect option to bolster the Toffees’ forward line, as he’s capable of playing on the right-hand side of the attack and a striker.

While the 24-year-old isn’t the first name on the teamsheet at Juventus, it would be surprising to see the Italian outfit sell him in the winter window.

The developments around the USA international will be one to keep an eye on.
