Everton transfer news as Timothy Weah to Goodison Park update shared

Timothy Weah looks set to remain at Juventus for the remainder of the season despite transfer interest from Everton, according to Ed Aarons.

The Guardian journalist reported on his X account [21 January] that Weah is likely to remain in Turin, despite having reportedly been of interest to Everton this month [Calcio Mercato].

Everton were said to be seriously considering the USMNT international, who won two Ligue 1 titles with PSG, but it appears any move could be off the table now.

Aarons posted: “Understand that Timothy Weah is set to stay at Juventus this month despite interest from Everton.”

Everton need to ramp up winter transfer business

The Toffees are yet to add anyone to their squad despite the window having been open for three weeks, and the efforts to bring new faces in need to be ramped up.

While the appointment of David Moyes has already caused a massive improvement on the pitch, the squad is still lacking in several areas and a failure to address those concerns could prove costly in their bid to avoid relegation.

As things stand in the Premier League, the Merseysiders sit just four points above the drop zone, and are four points behind Tottenham directly above them.

With the recent return to form for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and consistency showcased by Iliman Ndiaye, the Toffees are in a good position once again.

However, that injection of new quality will undoubtedly provide them with a big enough boost to steer away from the bottom three.

With less than two weeks remaining in the window, Everton need to ramp up those efforts and show their ambition to retain their spot in the top flight – even if that man is not Weah.
