Everton delegation spotted in Europe on transfer mission

Everton had scouts in attendance for the Europa League clash between Porto and Olympiacos, according to Record.

The Portuguese outlet reported on 24 January (page six) that the Toffees had a delegation at the Estadio Do Dragao on Thursday (23 January).

David Moyes’ side were joined by spies from other Premier League sides including Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brentford, Chelsea, Leicester City and Crystal Palace.

Elite sides from across Europe were also keeping their eye on the clash in Portugal with Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen scouts in attendance.

It is unclear who in particular all these sides were interested in watching but it is only positive that the Toffees are among these elite sides.

With Moyes coming in, the Scot will be keen to make changes to the side to put his stamp on things after taking over from Sean Dyche.

The former Manchester United boss is yet to bring in any new signings but has secured his first win, securing three points against Tottenham last week.

Despite no additions being made yet, it is clear that the recruitment process is well underway which could see a player come in from Porto or Olympiacos this winter.

It was the Greek side who took the win with Ayoub El Kaabi scoring the winner with just 11 minutes remaining in northwest Portugal.

Regardless of the result, it will be interesting to know who the Merseyside outfit are interested in and if they bring a new signing in before the 3 February deadline.
