Everton match postponed due to Storm Eowyn, new date set

Everton Under-21s have their trip to Newcastle United postponed due to Storm Eowyn.

The Toffees confirmed via their website (23 January) that their Premier League 2 clash in Tyneside on Friday (24 January) has been rescheduled, owing to expected poor weather in the area.

Paul Tait’s side will now play the game on Monday, 27 January, with the match made available for official members, lounge and season ticket holders on evertontv.

Everton have another game rescheduled after Liverpool trouble

This is not the first time Everton have had a game postponed this season, with their home game against Liverpool in the Premier League on 7 December meeting a similar fate.

The final-ever Merseyside derby at Goodison Park was called off, with Storm Darragh emerging as the villain on that occasion.

That game has notably been rescheduled to 12 February – over two months after its actual date.

Tait and Co do not have to wait that long though, as they will make their trip to Newcastle on Monday, 27 January.

Regions in the north east of England are bracing for bad weather due to Storm Eowyn and that has resulted in the Everton youth side having to change their plans.

Paul Tait’s Everton Under-21s side are 17th in Premier League 2.

Tait’s side are currently 17th of 26 teams in the Premier League 2 and a win against Newcastle, who are placed seventh, next week would put them just a point behind them.

In other Everton news, the Toffees will have a £20million offer accepted for this Premier League star.
