Alan Myers shares if he’s heard news on Everton-linked Christos Tzolis

Alan Myers has shared that he hasn’t heard anything about the potential transfer of Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis to Everton.

The attacker was linked with a Goodison Park switch on Friday (24 January) with a report from Football Transfers sharing that the Greek international was being considered by David Moyes.

However, it evidently looks like that isn’t the case as Sky Sports editor Myers shared his knowledge of the situation via his personal X account (25 January) after a fan asked about the legitimacy of the Toffees’ interest.

“Not heard that,” he wrote.

David Moyes needs to source some more firepower for Everton

Even by just looking at the Premier League table, it’s clear to see that things haven’t quite gone to plan at Everton this season.

However, we’re now over halfway into the 2024/25 campaign and the Toffees are currently sitting 16th in the league and are only being kept out of the bottom three spots due to how poor Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich have been.

One of the main reasons for Everton’s lack of progress this term is the fact that their strikers are often failing to get their names on the score sheet which is why it isn’t a surprise to see Moyes looking to delve into the market for a new attacker.

Tzolis may not be a number nine but the fact he’s been called “exciting” by Daniel Farke [The Independent] and has contributed to 20 goals in 32 games for Club Brugge this term, shows how much of a force he can be when used correctly.
