Arthur Melo ‘number one suspect’ to leave Juventus as Everton eye transfer

Everton are once again “monitoring” Juventus midfielder Arthur with a move eyed before the winter transfer window deadline, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Sky Italy journalist reported via his personal X account (24 January) that the Brazilian international is the “number one suspect” to exit the Old Lady before the window slams shut.

Arthur’s options “remain open” with Real Betis the other club who have been looking at the former Liverpool man for “several weeks”.

Arthur Melo would be an interesting signing from Everton

Since David Moyes took over from Sean Dyche as the Everton boss earlier a couple of weeks ago, it’s been evident that they need some new faces introduced among their ranks.

The Toffees’ 2024/25 season hasn’t quite gone to plan with the Merseyside outfit currently sitting 16th in the Premier League table.

Arhtur’s last stint in England didn’t quite go to plan with the Brazilian hardly having any game time for Liverpool due to the amount of injuries he suffered.

And, while he was fairly fit last season and played a starring role in Fiorentina’s set-up, he’s not yet played a single minute for the Old Lady.

Of course, it’s clear that the 28-year-old has bags of talent still but the fact Fiorentina didn’t want to make his stay permanent and Juventus haven’t yet played him this season, it feels like a strange deal for Everton to make, especially if they want to get away from the drop zone.
