Everton £7m bid: Doctor gives virtual green light for Nunez ‘to pass medical’
Norwich midfielder Marcelino Nunez should have no issues clearing his medical at Everton if needed, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that despite his hamstring setback at the end of 2024, it should not be viewed as a high-risk signing for the Toffees.
This comes after the Merseyside outfit had made a £7.2million bid on the table for the Chilean midfielder but it was turned down. [La Tercera, 3 January]
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Nunez: “He picked up a hamstring injury at the end of 2024 and that kept him out for a month.
“This sounds like a Grade 2 out 4 injury based on the timeline.
“As long as there aren’t any unforeseen outliers, wouldn’t expect any issues with his medical.
“This is not a high risk signing either.“
Everton could do with Marcelino Nunez’s quality in midfield
The Chile international has been a mainstay in the Norwich midfield and at 24, he would add some youth in an ageing midfield at the club.
He’s also capable of finding the back of the net as he’s bagged four goals this season and it remains to be seen if the Toffees come in with another bid.

Money is understood to be tight in this transfer window so this could be something they explore in the summer.
In other Everton news, a right-back is now “expected to pass his medical” as the Toffees are eyeing a January swoop.
