Everton transfer round-up: ‘Deal to be agreed’ for African goal machine

Everton will be looking to utilise the remainder of the winter transfer window to its full potential as the deadline rapidly approaches.

Since the appointment of David Moyes, Everton have appeared to be on the rise again but they must take advantage of opportunities that arise in the transfer window.

The Toffees still have some glaring areas of improvement that could be rectified with the right pieces of business ahead of the transfer deadline on 3 February.

Goodison News rounds up all the latest transfer rumours.

Everton linked with shock move for Irons forward

Danny Ings has emerged as a potential “last resort” option for the Toffees should they fail to reach an agreement with other targets, according to the Liverpool Echo [28 January].

West Ham are struggling with their own striker concerns given the injuries to Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio and they may wish to keep hold of Ings if they fail to bring in a new frontman of their own.

Everton have been chasing the signing of a striker all window with Dominic Calvert-Lewin only recently scoring his first goal in 17 games.

Everton admire Newcastle ace

The Toffees are said to be long-term admirers of Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff, according to The Athletic [28 January].

Several clubs have reportedly made an approach for the midfielder but none are yet to make an official bid.

There is believed to be an outside chance that Longstaff will depart St James Park with Everton keeping an eye on any developments in the coming days.

Twist emerges in Beto exit from Goodison Park

Roma are understood to have withdrawn their interest in Everton forward Beto, according to Corriere dello Sport [28 January].

The Italian outfit are believed to have pulled out of the deal “weeks ago” when they weren’t convinced about the forward’s ability to contribute to them.

Talks had taken place with the representatives of Beto but any move now appears to be off the cards although an exit could still be an option if another team were to make a suitable offer.

Everton to complete Hamza Igamane signing

Bryan King exclusively revealed to Goodison News that he expects the Toffees to wrap up the signing of Moroccan goal machine Igamane in light of the injury sustained by Calvert-Lewin.

The Rangers forward has been in fine form in Scotland – scoring seven times in his last seven league games – with King explaining that he wouldn’t come cheap.

King said: “If they have got the money, a deal could be agreed.

I don’t think Igamane would be cheap. However, now that Calvert-Lewin is injured, I imagine that Everton will be looking to get that deal across the line.”
