Beto ‘packing his bags’ at Everton after transfer update

Everton are showing promising signs of improving their form under the management of David Moyes but there is plenty of work to be done to secure Premier League safety.

When Sean Dyche left Goodison Park, the Toffees sat just one point above the relegation zone but the Blues have since extended that to seven points.

The squad are looking much more assured in their performances under their new boss but Moyes will no doubt be eager to bring some new faces into his squad as they look ahead to the remainder of the campaign.

One area that needs strengthening with some urgency is up top given current strikers Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Beto and Armando Broja have scored just four goals between them in the top flight this season.

Beto has also been linked with a move away from Merseyside [Tuttosport, 27 January] with claims the striker is keen to leave.

However, with Broja injured, the 26-year-old has been left waiting for any update on his future.

Beto surely set for Everton exit

According to Tuttosport (29 January), the Friedkin Group are set to hand Moyes £30million to spend on bringing new faces in during the January transfer window which would surely greenlight an exit for the striker.

Taiwo Awoniyi, Hamza Igamane, Evan Ferguson, Marcus Edwards and Brian Brobbey are all mentioned as targets showing the boss has no doubt over where his money has to go.

With this in mind, Beto will surely be packing his bags ready to move away from Goodison Park as any new additions to the side’s attacking efforts would give the Blues the ability to be let go of the striker, with his services being replaced.

This will be a positive move for both the player and the club as it is clear the transfer hasn’t worked out and when fighting through a relegation battle, you need players that are committed to the cause to keep you where you want to be.

It’s understandable that nothing has been sanctioned as of yet, with the needs of the most important thing but the manager will be sure that if he can bring in one of his attacking targets, Beto will be surplus to requirements in the remainder of the campaign.
