Everton ‘to make big-money signing’ after £30m+ boost – Goodison Insider
Bryan King expects Everton to sign one big-name player before the winter transfer window closes.
The ex-Goodison scout thinks a couple of loan additions will be made alongside one big-money player.
It comes after Tuttosport reported on Wednesday (29 January) that the Friedkin Group will hand David Moyes £33.5million to sign two new attackers before 3 February.
However, ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – thinks the £33.5m boost will only get the Toffees so far in the current transfer market.
“How much can Everton really get for that kind of money,” King said.
“If anything is going to happen, I expect that a couple of players will be coming in on loan, alongside one big-money signing. That is how I see it. When you see teenagers being brandished about for £40million or more, it is clear that £33.5m doesn’t get teams very far anymore in the transfer market.”
Everton to sign one big-name player before 3 February?
It is clear that Moyes needs a new attacker at Goodison Park after Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s serious injury setback. However, £33.5m won’t get the Toffees much.
Therefore, they must decide if they want to spend their entire budget on one player or bring in several players on cheaper deals. In addition, with Jack Harrison and Armando Broja already at the club, Everton have no more room for domestic loan signings, which means any players signed from within England would need to be on permanent deals.
As reported by iNews (30 January), Leicester City will listen to offers for Patson Daka, and Everton could make a move. However, this probably isn’t as glamorous a signing as some supporters might like.

Therefore, Moyes has a lot of thinking to do about how best to spend his £33.5m boost.
