Hamza Igamane transfer: Everton update emerges in pursuit of Rangers ace

Everton will not be signing Rangers striker Hamza Igamane in this transfer window, according to Mirror journalist David Anderson.

Posting on X on Thursday (30 January), Anderson stated that the Toffees will not be completing a deal for the 22-year-old Moroccan before the 3 February deadline.

Everton scouts reportedly watched Igamane in the Gers’ 3-1 win over Dundee United last weekend (Tuttosport), while Graeme Bailey previously reported (TBR) work was being done by the Toffees to sign him in this winter window.

Everton back to the drawing board as Hamza Igamane deal not happening

It is a badly kept secret that Everton are desperate to sign some attacking reinforcement this window and rumours of Igamane moving to Merseyside were gathering pace.

Once dubbed a “rough diamond” by Philippe Clement (Daily Mail), the 22-year-old has really begun to display his talent in recent months, becoming a star turn in a Gers side that has struggled for form in the Scottish Premiership.

But you would imagine it would take a sizeable fee for Rangers to enter talks and, quite simply, the Toffees will not be paying big fees for transfer before the window slams shut.

It feels like another dead end for Everton, who are also struggling to find a way to bring Brighton striker Evan Ferguson to Goodison.

Everton are unlikely to sanction a full transfer for Ferguson, while they have no domestic spots available for a loan right now. In essence, the search for reinforcement is back to the drawing board it seems.
