Abdoulaye Doucoure sends message as Everton injury bombshell emerges
Abdoulaye Doucoure has taken to social media to deliver a message of support to Orel Mangala after news of a crushing injury blow for the Everton star.
Mangala posted on his Instagram page (30 January) to claim he will be “back stronger” after news emerged that the midfielder will miss the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.
The Lyon loanee is in danger of not playing for the Toffees again following the serious issue sustained during last weekend’s win over Brighton (25 January).
Doucoure was quick to lend his support for his teammate, commenting: “My brother, you will come back stronger than ever. God is great,” followed by a heart-eyed emoji.
Everton suffering key midfield blow
Without doubt, the loss of Mangala will be felt by David Moyes and Everton. The 26-year-old had become a mainstay in the side for the past two months and was beginning to flourish.
Especially as a loanee who will not know whether he will play in the famous blue shirt again, he needs support around him and if Doucoure’s public comment is anything to go by, Mangala will be well nurtured.
As football becomes more intense, more athletically-driven and players are stretched to their limits by a more rigorous annual calendar of games for their clubs and international sides, injuries such as Mangala’s are becoming more commonplace.

Granted, the very best medical innovations and rehabilitation programmes can be offered by Premier League clubs, but it doesn’t make discovering such an injury any easier to digest.
It remains to be seen whether Everton are able to dip further into the transfer market for a midfield replacement before Monday’s deadline (3 February).
In other Everton news, Chelsea could demand a sizeable fee from the Toffees to make an arrangement on a player.
