Everton team news v Leicester – Five ruled out as surgery confirmed by Moyes
David Moyes will be without five players for the Premier League clash between Everton and Leicester City on Saturday.
The Toffees welcome Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s side to Goodison on 1 February as the home side looks to make it three wins from their last three games.
Orel Mangala will miss the clash after picking up a season-ending knee injury against Brighton while Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also set to miss out after going off in the same game.
Armando Broja, Dwight McNeil and Youssef Chermiti are also set to be absent from the clash on Merseyside.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on 31 January, Moyes said: “Dwight’s [McNeil] had a minor surgery.
“I’ve just spoke to him as I walked in, it’s the first time I’ve spoken to him, it’s the first I’ve seen of him, he’s been back in the building so hopefully this will be him sorting out his injury which was difficult to diagnose.
“Chermiti is back on the grass today, I’m getting told maybe three or four weeks, we might have a chance to get him back. Obviously, today was his first day back and he was out with the physios.”
Everton must maintain positive form v Leicester City
Regardless of any injury concerns, there will be a desire to keep up a great run of form since the Scot returned to Merseyside earlier in January.
This has seen the Toffees pick up three points against Tottenham and Brighton in recent weeks, showing off different ways to win in both clashes.
The win against Ange Postecoglou’s side showed the attacking qualities that the Goodison club possess but are often unable to exhibit.
On the flip side, the victory at the Amex proved just how strong Moyes’ side are defensively, seeing out a 1-0 result against a top attacking side.

The clash in L4 against the Foxes will represent a completely different challenge as Van Nistelrooy’s side continue to battle against relegation from the Premier League.
As a result, it will be interesting to see how the L4 outfit gets on especially while they are without first-team regulars like Mangala and Calvert-Lewin.
