David Moyes ‘handed incredible boost’ as Everton XI confirmed v Leicester City

David Moyes will feel confident of Everton securing victory after being able to make an important change against Leicester City on Saturday.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury sees Beto come into the lineup, with Orel Mangala’s season-ending blow also meaning James Garner can be welcomed back into the team on 1 February [Official X].

He featured against the Seagulls but only as a 78th-minute substitute.

The rest of the team stays the same from the 1-0 win over Brighton last time out, except an important figure has re-emerged on the bench following almost four months on the sidelines.

Tim Iroegbunam is part of the matchday squad for the first time since the 0-0 draw with Newcastle United back in October, which could be vitally important towards the end of the clash at Goodison Park.

David Moyes handed double boost in Everton v Leicester City

Moyes’ side have a chance to take an important step towards Premier League safety, though now could be the worst time to face the Foxes following their shock 2-1 win over Tottenham.

Despite back-to-back wins against Spurs and Brighton, the Toffees are far from safety, with only seven points separating them from the relegation zone, something which could change very quickly.

The Foxes represent an incredible opportunity to get another three points on the board, potentially leapfrogging Spurs into 15th as they face Brentford on Sunday 2 February.

With so many long-term injuries emerging at Goodison Park recently, Moyes will be relieved to welcome back two of his most important players, especially in the middle of the park.

Iroegbunam thrived following his move from Aston Villa in the summer, but having suffered an awful setback, the Scot is unlikely to risk a re-injury if not absolutely essential on Saturday.

Nonetheless, it is a rare positive for the Merseysiders this week, who continue to be dealt bad hands and PSR continues to stifle their efforts in the transfer market.
