Everton midfield ace ‘could leave Goodison Park’ after Carlos Alcaraz deal

Everton midfielder Harrison Armstrong could be sent out on loan once Carlos Alcaraz arrives at Goodison Park, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Chris Beesley reported for the newspaper’s online transfer blog [3 February, 15:34] that the imminent signing of Alcaraz may allow fringe players to head out.

Highly regarded Armstrong is named as one of those who could depart ahead of the 11pm deadline on Monday (3 February), with Finch Farm staff believing it is a good chance for him to pick up first-team minutes.

Harrison Armstrong has big Everton future

Armstrong has made six appearances for Everton at senior level this term in what has been a breakthrough campaign.

While only one of those have been starts, coming against Southampton in the EFL Cup, he has showed he is already good enough to represent the first-team side.

Having only recently turned 18, Armstrong would massively benefit from playing week in and week out at a club further down the pyramid.

Whether there is interest from EFL clubs remains to be seen, but it would not at all be surprising if some from League One have already reached out to the Toffees.

Armstrong has a massive future ahead of him at Goodison Park and it makes sense to let him play regularly, rather than a few minutes here and there.

Should he thrive on loan elsewhere, it may well be that he becomes an option to start regularly under David Moyes next season.

With Alcaraz soon to be confirmed as a Toffee, this is the logical next transfer to get over the line for Thelwell and Co.
