Everton offered last-gasp Chukwueze transfer by AC Milan
Everton were offered the chance to sign AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze ahead of the 11pm transfer deadline, according to Graeme Bailey.
The journalist reported via Everton News [3 February] that the Toffees have turned down the opportunity to secure the 25-year-old’s signature despite holding a long-standing interest in the star.
It is understood that, with David Moyes’ side now giving up the chance to land Chukwueze, Fulham are attempting to sign him before the transfer window slams shut at 11pm.
Everton turn down Samuel Chukwueze transfer
Given the Toffees’ current issues at right-wing, with Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom unable to hold down the position this season, Chukwueze would have been an ideal signing.
The 25-year-old already has 59 appearances to his name for the Serie A giants after moving from Villarreal in 2023, where he played over two centuries of games.
He is also a proven star at the international level with Nigeria, winning 34 caps and scoring six goals in that time, but his goalscoring record has not always been convincing enough.
Either way, he would offer something different than what is currently at Moyes’ disposal.
He is an extremely dangerous player, and while he has disappointed in Italy, he could find his feet in the Premier League and also find his shooting boots.
If the Toffees really have turned down a move for the pacey winger, and he ends up at Craven Cottage with Fulham, it would be a little embarrassing for whoever turned the deal down.

He has plenty of potential, but given most of that potential was shown during his time in La Liga, the scouting team cannot be blamed if they were slightly sceptical about signing the winger.
With just a couple of hours left until the transfer window slams shut, however, the Merseysiders are quickly running out of time to add another attacker to the ranks for the second half of the campaign.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have submitted a £15million bid to sign a forward, with the club responding immediately.
