Jim White shares what he’s heard about TFG at Everton on deadline day

Jim White believes The Friedkin Group are the best signing that Everton could have hoped for in this window.

The Toffees may only complete one deal this winter, with Carlos Alcaraz set to come in from Flamengo, but the new owners could prove to be the biggest boost at Goodison Park.

The Roma chiefs took over on Merseyside and have since hired David Moyes who has secured three wins on the bounce in recent weeks.

Regardless of a lack of business in this window, White has suggested to talkSPORT (3 February, 10:38pm) that the new owners are the best addition the supporters could have hoped for.

He said: “Their best signing in this window was the new owners, the Friedkin Group.

Co-host and Peterborough owner, Darragh MacAnthony chipped in by saying: “I think Moyes is the best signing and they’d be number two. He’s gone in there and it’s three wins in a row. No fear of relegation, with that new stadium.

“It looks like all the good stuff for the fans is coming true and they can have a great period now. If they get behind Moyes, they’ll be in the top 10 of the Premier League.”

White added: “I hear, the Friedkin group only speak when there’s something to say and towards the end of Moshiri’s reign there, fans were getting annoyed because when he did speak, it wasn’t what they wanted to hear.”

It can’t be understated how much excitement there was when the American businessman completed their takeover in L4.

After months of uncertainty with Moshiri and links to 777 Partners, who were bad news for sure, it was so great to be able to put that away and look ahead to the future.

That did take a blow when the form under Sean Dyche caused unrest at Goodison and sparked fear of relegation.

Ultimately that could have proven to be a nightmare situation for the Toffees as they look to move into the Bramley Moore Dock stadium while looking for a fresh sponsorship deal.

Now with Moyes at the helm, that fear has gone and fans are building in excitement and looking ahead to a positive future.

They won’t necessarily worry about a lack of transfer business in the winter window as there is plenty to be happy about without any additions.
