David Moyes hailed as Everton announce ‘perfect’ last-gasp transfer
Bryan King has hailed David Moyes after Everton announced the arrival of Carlos Alcaraz.
The ex-Goodison scout believes the midfielder is a “perfect” replacement for Orel Mangala, who saw his loan spell at Goodison Park come to a sudden end.
After a drawn-out and at times confusing transfer saga, the Toffees finally announced the arrival of Alcaraz via social media just after the deadline had passed, via a deal sheet (4 February).
And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that Moyes deserves a lot of credit.
“This is the sort of thing I expect from Moyes,” King said.
“He has seen what the problems are, and what players need to be brought in. It is a big loss that Mangala has picked up this injury.
“However, if Alcaraz does well, he could be the perfect replacement. I think this is a sign that they’ve got a proper manager at the club.”

Everton are on a real high at the moment.
After three consecutive wins in the Premier League, the Toffees now sit nine points above the bottom three while also boasting a game in hand. Therefore, it looks as though the threat of relegation is quickly becoming a distant memory.
And after the arrival of Alcaraz, it looks as though Moyes’ side should be well-equipped to push toward a mid-table finish in the Premier League this season.
However, fans would have no doubt expected, or perhaps wanted, a bit more from the club during the winter transfer window, especially with Moyes keen to make four new signings.

As a result, when the summer comes around, the Friedkin Group will need to ensure they produce a much more ambitious and active window.
