David Moyes makes new stadium admission in Everton relegation verdict
David Moyes admitted it is imperative Everton retain their Premier League status ready for the move to Bramley-Moore Dock and is confident his side are moving away from the “darkness”.
TFG completed their takeover of the Toffees in December and soon after brought Moyes back to the club as manager in the hope of staying in the Premier League this term.
After winning three of their four games under their new boss, the Blues have moved six points clear of the relegation zone.
Furthermore, the boss has backed his side to continue moving in the right direction, stressing that it is vital to start next term at their swanky new home in the top flight.
He said to beIN Sports (5 January): “I think everybody feels we’re on the way out of it now. We can see it now, we’re moving away from the darkness and hopefully into the light. We’ve just got a little bit left to get rid of before we can be clear.
“So we’ve got to make sure we get over the line, get to the new stadium as a Premier League club but hopefully also win, play some good football if we can and give the supporters the enjoyment of Goodison in the last few months of the season.”
Everton looking towards better times
The takeover of TFG will have felt like a very long time coming for the Toffees supporters at Goodison Park and they will no doubt have felt a big sigh of relief after it went through.
Furthermore, although there was sympathy from some supporters after Sean Dyche’s exit, the return of Moyes to the Merseyside outfit was certainly a boost for plenty of supporters too.
This has translated onto the pitch with many players showing much-improved performances while results have improved too and pushed the Blues up the table.

There is plenty of work to still be done but things look to be going in the right direction at Goodison suggesting a move positive era lies ahead.
As the boss says, going to the new stadium as a top-flight side is essential for Everton and will surely have a massive impact on what lies ahead in their long-term future under new owners.
