Moyes ‘unhappy’ already at Everton after ‘strange’ transfer news – Insider
Bryan King claims David Moyes was keen for Everton to sign Evan Ferguson on loan from Brighton.
The ex-Goodison scout believes the 61-year-old will be frustrated by the club only managing to make one signing during the winter transfer window.
Carlos Alcaraz was the sole arrival at Goodison Park, with Everton confirming the transfer via the club’s official website on Deadline Day (3 February).
However, King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – thinks Moyes will be annoyed about his former club West Ham signing Ferguson on loan from Brighton ahead of the Toffees.
“Moyes will be frustrated by the lack of transfer activity, without doubt,” King said.
“It was pretty strange that Ferguson went to West Ham, I’m sure Moyes wanted him at Everton. He would have liked to have a player like that at the football club.
“However, he will have to make do with what he has got now.
“Having said that, they haven’t done badly thus far. I think Moyes has improved the quality at the club, players are working and training harder than they were before.”
Everton and David Moyes miss out on Evan Ferguson
Everton made a last-gasp approach to sign Ferguson before Brighton agreed to send him to the London Stadium for the rest of the season [via the Daily Mail, 3 February, page 10].
Therefore, it is clear that the club wanted the striker, which is no surprise as a number nine was a priority target at Goodison throughout the winter transfer window, especially after Dominic Calvert-Lewin suffered a serious injury setback.

However, the fact that Moyes personally wanted Ferguson, and the Toffees didn’t sign him, is a bit of a concern for supporters, especially if the Everton boss is frustrated by these developments, as the last thing the Goodison faithful will want is for their manager to be unhappy.
