David Moyes delights Friedkin Group after new Everton transfer development
David Moyes will have left the Friedkin Group delighted at Everton after the winter transfer window, Dan Plumley has said.
Everton only made one new addition with the loan signing of Carlos Alcaraz from Flamengo, with the option to make that transfer permanent in the summer.
Moyes could have made more signings before the February 3 deadline at Goodison Park but has still guided the Toffees to three consecutive Premier League wins.
David Moyes transfer refusal emerges at Everton
The Scotsman is said to have refused to spend the limited Everton funds he had on players who wouldn’t instantly improve his squad, with the winter market challenging (iNews).
Plumley, a football finance expert, admitted that the Friedkins would have been happy with that call and extra financial backing will come with more success.
“I think the credit there has to go to David Moyes,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“It shows his skills as a manager in that regard because he is being realistic and we thought that from the outside looking in there wasn’t going to be much money to spend in January.
“Moyes knows that and was aware of it and he’s put down his marker there to say he’s not going to be seen as wasting money and there is a bigger picture to look at.
“Also, that gives some real confidence to the squad he has inherited because he will be telling that to his players and we’ve seen the run of form they’ve been on and the bounce that was expected.

Friedkins to fund transfer spree at Everton
“Moyes is not going out to just bring people in and he’s going to back the players that are there, so that is important in the wider context of him as a manager.
“For the owners, I think that shows the working relationship has got off to a good start and he knows down the line that he will be backed if things go well if he needs to be.”
Moyes has the perfect chance to cement his legacy for a second time at Goodison Park, as it hosts its final Merseyside derby against Liverpool on Wednesday.

The Friedkins would likely hand over a transfer war chest for the summer immediately if he was to pick up all three points in that game, in a huge statement.
First up is Premier League survival, then all eyes will be on that huge summer transfer window.
