Everton look at new transfer already as Vitalii Mykolenko update emerges

Everton are already looking at new transfers ahead of the summer window, with Premier League survival crucial.

The Toffees signed Carlos Alcaraz on loan in the winter transfer window but failed to get more reinforcements before Deadline Day.

David Moyes will be unhappy with The Friedkin Group as he would have arguably wanted more signings mid-season.

Goodison Park is set for its last Merseyside derby on Wednesday against Liverpool (12 February), with limited new options to get one over on the Reds again.

Everton already set for brand new transfer

A new left-back is already on the agenda in the summer transfer window, according to TEAMtalk.

The news outlet reports (10 February) that Everton are looking at different targets to bolster their backline in the coming months.

Vitalii Mykolenko has been the first choice at the Blues for years now, but the Blues are looking to add better cover in that department.

Ashley Young’s contract at Everton expires at the end of the season, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.

David Moyes will want big summer spend

The left-back position has been one that evidently needs strengthening, considering the Ukrainian defender’s inconsistency at times with little support.

Young is also not getting any younger, and the 39-year-old may be playing the final months of his career.

Moyes will arguably want more signings at Goodison soon after TFG’s rather tame spending in the winter window, which sets them up perfectly.

The Friedkins must be confident that the Scotsman can retain their Premier League status, as they seem to be already planning for the summer.

While the Toffees have a nine-point gap with the relegation zone, there’s still a long way to go in the current campaign.

The Blues have won three consecutive matches in the English top flight, but their 2-0 loss to Bournemouth in the FA Cup on Saturday (8 February) will serve as a reminder.

What the Merseyside outfit can’t afford is to let their foot off the gas and be overly confident of avoiding the drop.

The Toffees will be wary as Wolves and Leicester City are on their tails in what will undoubtedly be a tight relegation battle.
