Simon Jordan hits out at ‘absurd’ Everton development, predicts bright future
Simon Jordan has always been very vocal about PSR issues that have affected Everton over the past couple of seasons.
The Merseyside club were handed back-to-back points deductions by the Premier League during the 2023/24 campaign, with Sean Dyche doing an incredible job to climb the table once again.
This, of course, caused a humungous rift between the supporters and the Premier League, with many feeling that there is an “agenda” against the Toffees, and understandably so.
However, with The Friedkin Group now taking over from Farhad Moshiri, there is a new-found hope at Goodison Park, with the Toffees set to move homes once the current season ends.
The Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium marks the start of a new era for the Merseyside team, and that is also being felt by those outside of the club.
Simon Jordan bashes “absurd” Profit and Sustainability Rules
Speaking live via talkSPORT [11 February, 10:05am], Jordan said: “Everton got themselves into a mess because of bad management, there’s no other way of addressing it.
“I think the mistakes made have been quite evident. One they haven’t made is the development of the new stadium. I think it will enhance them – they’ve already had the debt and made a load of mistakes.
“They’ve gone through the pain on a commercial front because of the consequences of this PSR regime, which is just absurd in the first place. Everton will be benefitted on the field by the new stadium.”
David Moyes to lead Everton into bright future
David Moyes has already created an incredible atmosphere at Goodison Park, winning three consecutive matches against Tottenham, Brighton and Leicester City before crashing out of the FA Cup.
With the Toffees still just nine points above the relegation zone, the main focus right now should be climbing up the Premier League table rather than advancing in domestic competitions.
The Scot has his biggest challenge yet since replacing Dyche – a home battle against Liverpool on Wednesday 12 February.

Arne Slot’s side will be heading to Goodison Park to ruin the party, especially after being knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle, and it could be a massive struggle.
Win all three points against their bitter rivals, the Toffees could even go above Manchester United in the Premier League, showing just how good a job Moyes has done since his arrival.
Once the 2024/25 campaign ends, the real excitement will begin as the move to Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium begins and the summer transfer window opens.
