David Moyes ‘saves Everton millions already’ after what happened v Liverpool

David Moyes may already have saved Everton millions of pounds, having only replaced Sean Dyche in the Goodison Park dugout a month ago.

Everton secured a last-gasp draw against Liverpool in the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Wednesday (February 12).

The result leaves the Toffees ten points above the Premier League relegation zone with 14 matches left to play.

And the emergence of a forgotten man under David Moyes may well save the club a fortune in the transfer market.

The Scotsman has turned Beto into a legitimate danger man since his return at Goodison Park, so the Blues may not need a new number nine.

The Guinea-Bissau forward was linked with an exit in the winter transfer window but remained on Merseyside and has emerged as a key player for the Toffees.

The 27-year-old scored the first goal in the final Merseyside derby and played a key role in James Tarkowski’s stunning equaliser by knocking Ibrahima Konate off balance in the build-up.

Beto emergence under David Moyes is stunning

The former Udinese man has featured for more minutes in the league since Moyes returned than he had under Sean Dyche.

He has also trebled his goals scored since the Scot took charge in the dugout, with a minutes-per-goal ratio of 87 minutes rather than 221 with the former Burnley man coming from his two strikes against Leicester City and the opener against Arne Slot‘s side.

His figures for shots and touches in the opposition box have also increased under the ex-West Ham boss as Moyes has found a way to get the best out of the forward.

The 61-year-old has rapidly improved an Everton side that had stagnated under Dyche and Beto has been the main beneficiary.

If his form continues in the current vein, then the Goodison Park outfit may not need to enter the market for a new starting attacker.

And on that basis alone, he may have already saved The Friedkin Group millions of pounds.
