Everton insider shares what he’s been told about Richarlison as return mooted

Richarlison was a fan favourite at Goodison Park during his time with Everton.

The Brazillian clearly still holds the Toffees close to his heart as he continues to react to positive updates from Goodison Park.

Richarlison scored 53 goals in 152 appearances for Everton before making a big-money move to Tottenham in the summer of 2022. However, he has struggled since moving to North London, and with his future up in the air, the idea of Richarlison making a return to Everton has been mooted.

However, not everybody agrees that this would be such a good idea.

Everton to avoid re-signing Tottenham striker Richarlison

According to Graeme Bailey [via Everton News, 6 February], while any transfer would need to be a record-breaking one, Everton would love to re-sign Richarlison.

However, ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – has suggested otherwise, ruling out the potential of the Brazillian making a return to Merseyside.

“He won’t go to Everton,” King said.

“Not a chance, not a chance. If David Moyes has any sense, and he is the manager I think he is, he wouldn’t go near him. Anybody associated with Everton wouldn’t want that move, he was hopeless.

“The people that I know at Everton, and the people that I spoke to, haven’t got a good word to say about him. Once you have gotten rid of trouble, why would you want to bring it back? Richarlison will go abroad, I can’t see anybody else being able to afford him. He wouldn’t go to any of the Premier League’s top clubs.”

Everton fans must move on from Richarlison

Richarlison clearly still holds a strong bond with Everton supporters. Therefore, fans would no doubt love to see the 27-year-old lead the line for the Toffees as they make their move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

However, it seems as though that is nothing more than a dream at this moment in time. With King pouring cold water on the move, and the need for a record-breaking fee, it doesn’t seem as though a transfer is likely.

As a result, some fans are bound to be frustrated.

However, Richarlison’s form at Tottenham perhaps suggests that it is for the best the forward doesn’t return to Everton, and the club instead start to look toward the future, rather than the past.
