Chris Sutton stunned by what Everton fan said after win v Crystal Palace
Chris Sutton was left stunned by what an Everton fan said to him after the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.
Beto gave the Toffees the lead at Selhurst Park before an early goal in the second half from Jean Philippe Mateta brought things level, with VAR controversy included in the drama for Everton.
It was new signing Charly Alcaraz who popped up with the winner for David Moyes, making it four wins in his last five Premier League games at Everton.
That has clearly got the Toffees’ fans buzzing, with one going wild on live radio.
Chris Sutton stunned by Everton admission
Everton fan Michael called in to speak to Sutton and Robbie Savage, claiming that his beloved side could even reach European football under Moyes.
Despite the turnaround, the goal will likely remain on Premier League survival, which may already be secured ahead of the huge move to Bramley Moore Dock.
Speaking live on BBC 5 Live Sport, as shared on social media, Sutton could not believe it.
“Are you serious?” he said.
“However brilliant it’s been, you’re not going to get into Europe, but take nothing away from David Moyes.”
Can Everton push for a European spot this season? 📈

Everton going for Europe in Premier League
Now sitting 10 points above the relegation zone in the Premier League, why shouldn’t Everton look at bigger and better goals at Goodison Park?
Stranger things have happened, however unlikely it may seem now.
With injuries destroying the squad right now though, Moyes will be happy just ticking along and keeping that feel-good factor around Finch Farm every week.
Iliman Ndiaye is the latest to pitch up in the medical room after his injury against Liverpool, and despite his sensational form, Everton still picked up the three points at Crystal Palace.
Games coming up against the likes of Manchester United, Brentford, Wolves and West Ham represent yet more good chances to keep the unbeaten run going.
After that comes another tough run of fixtures against the Premier League elite, but in this current form and with some bodies back, who is to say that Europe may not be on the cards by then?
