Everton attacker Iliman Ndiaye season-ending injury update emerges

Everton attacker Iliman Ndiaye may be ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the worst-case scenario for this setback would see him requiring surgery.

However, if it isn’t as bad, his absence could only be for a few weeks before he’s ready to make his first-team return.

This comes after he damaged his medial ligament in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool this week.

Everton will be hoping Iliman Ndiaye is not out for the season

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Ndiaye: “Ndiaye injured his knee against Liverpool and Moyes then confirmed that it was a medial ligament injury.

“While no timeline has been put on his return, he did appear to be in tremendous pain as he was taken off.

“The best case for something like this would be him returning in a few weeks and the worst case would be him needing surgery which would rule him out for three months and potentially the season too.”

The club will certainly be hoping that he’s not ruled out for the rest of the season as he’s been one of their most important players.

Iliman Ndiaye has made 24 league appearances this season for the Toffees

The Toffees have played 24 league games this season and the 24-year-old has played in every single game.

He has made 22 starts and the other two appearances have been off the bench for the Blues.

The Senegal international has bagged six Premier League goals and has scored a goal each in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

His absence would undoubtedly be felt as he’ll leave a huge void in the final third with the onus on David Moyes to find the right balance.

It remains to be seen what the Scotsman has in store and whether he’ll make a like-for-like change or look to alter the system.

Currently, the Toffees look good to avoid relegation but the job is far from done and the focus should be towards getting to 40 points as soon as possible.
