Richard Keys takes cheeky swipe at Manchester United after Everton result
Richard Keys was quick to take a cheeky swipe at Manchester United on the back of Everton’s win over Crystal Palace at the weekend.
Everton continued their fine form under David Moyes in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory on Saturday (15 February).
The win at Selhurst Park was not without its controversy, but Everton did what was needed to ensure the threat of relegation is a thing of the past.
David Moyes record as Everton manager
Moyes has now overseen four wins in seven matches since succeeding Sean Dyche in the Goodison Park dugout.
A 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in his first game is one of just two losses, meanwhile, the other coming in the FA Cup at home to Bournemouth.
The Scotsman has had a huge impact already and has Everton on course for a Premier League finish that many would no doubt have accepted this time last month.
And it is not lost on Keys that Everton are now higher in the Premier League than both West Ham United and Manchester United, both of whom got rid of Moyes.
Richard Keys comments on Everton in online blog
“Well done the Moyesiah at Everton,” Keys wrote in his blog [17 February]. “In no time at all he’s got the Toffees higher in the league than both West Ham and United – two clubs that sacked him.”
Keys accompanied the post with a winking face emoji, implying that he knew full well that he was being deliberately mischievous.

The beIN SPORTS presenter does have a point, though. Moyes was deemed not good enough by West Ham, despite leading them to a European trophy.
While the Scotsman did badly struggle during his time in charge of Man United, the managers who have subsequently been in charge – most recently Ruben Amorim – have showed just how tough a job it is.
Everton fans will just be grateful that Moyes is in the Goodison Park dugout and will soon guide the Toffees into a new era at their stunning Bramley-Moore Dock home.
